Science Slam for Young Researchers
It’s time to set the stage on fire! We are thrilled to announce the first round of our Science Slam, taking place on August 2 in the evening at the venue Marinaforum Regensburg as part of the symposium.
Is research your passion? Do you burn for your topic? Then show us what you’ve got! We invite you to present your scientific data in a dynamic 8-minute presentation. Whether you use slides, video, live equipment, or simply stand on the podium yourself: playful creativity is not only allowed - it is highly encouraged.
Make science come alive! Use your unique style to convince the audience of your research and your ability to explain complex scientific relationships in an accessible way. If you have never heard of a Science Slam or can't quite picture how it works, we recommend searching the internet for "Science Slam" videos for inspiration. Slamming is not just fun; it’s rewarding: There are attractive prizes to be won - stay tuned!
The best performances will be determined by a jury, who will also be influenced by the intensity of the audience’s applause. This gives both the jurors and the audience a direct hand in the final ranking. The evaluation criteria include scientific accuracy, clarity of content, overall performance, and – crucially - adherence to the 8-minute time limit.
Who can participate?
Participation is open to everyone working in sleep medicine or related fields.
At the time of registration, participants should ideally be under 40 years old (exceptions may be considered).
Application Details:
Spots are highly coveted and limited to six participants.
Apply now - no later than July 3rd - by submitting a standard abstract and a brief outline of your presentation format (max. one page).
